Obsessive Compulsive Disorder=anxiety=fear=belief=thoughts formed from experience and everything learned.
Do not fear that which does not exist (OCD)
If you remove the anxiety, you remove OCD.
If you remove the fear, you remove anxiety.
If you remove faulty beliefs, you remove faulty fears.

Gain Control the instant you feel you are about to ocd with your thoughts…. I tell myself “my mind is trying to play tricks on me” without ever explain to myself what those “tricks” are… Remember, by explaining to yourself what those tricks are…” is a huge part of the problem!

I am in the building trade and I keep checking work I’ve done from years back……its a terrible thing to have as you know. The advice Derek is giving is certainly helping me at the moment. But i’m still finding it difficult.

Well how do i remove faulty beliefs if im too scared and kind of have a belief that ocd in itself is keeping things (past experiences and fears) from occuring? I know these are lies but whenever i come near the idea of myself with no ocd at all (and as much as ocd is killing me god knows how much) i cant bear it cuz i get a feeling that ocd is keeping certain fears away so i dont win either way, i cant live with it, afraid to live without it

I know OCD feels real but it is not. Giving into the ritual makes the OCD stronger. Not giving in to the ritual makes the OCD weaker. One thing that helps me is to put it off one day. When the next day comes, I tell myself to put it off again for another day. I continue this until eventually it burns out.
